Coldwell Banker agent
works to find clients their
dream homes
Matt Maloney believes being personally
invested in the community and involved in
its activities is the secret to his success as a
Coldwell Banker broker.
Maloney, who moved to Munster from
Dolton, Ill., in 1995, worked as a broker
at the Chicago Board of Trade for 22
years. When his job ended in 2013, a friend
suggested he start a career in real estate.
He has been an agent since October
2013, and been with Coldwell Banker
Residential since 2015. He is ranked No.
1 in gross sales in Munster and in the top
20 agents overall by the Greater Northwest
Indiana Association of Realtors.
Maloney’s Highland Coldwell Banker
office consistently ranks in the top three
real estate agencies in the Region, which
means the agents can work together to
help clients sell their homes faster or find
a dream home.
“I’m active in Munster activities and
have coached and was athletic director at
St. Thomas Moore and am involved in
the Munster High School Booster Club,”
he said. “I’m invested in the Region and
passionate about the community. I am
raising my family here. I’ve met a lot of
people and created a pretty big network.”
He said he also maintains a network of
friends and acquaintances, which has been
a benefit as people have been relocating
from Illinois to Indiana.

“It’s been a perfect storm,” he said.
Maloney said he is willing to maximize
new technology through marketing, using
his social media presence, and making
himself available at all hours of the day or
night.
“Millennial
homebuyers
don’t
understand a 9-to-5 lifestyle. I’ll always call
or text you back within an hour,” he said.
“I’m also willing to think outside of the box
when it comes to technology. I embrace the
technology as it changes. I have an active
social media presence, and I was one of the
first in the area to use drones to take aerial
photography of the properties.”
Maloney sells everything from $75,000
condos to some of the most expensive
homes all over Lake County.
“I’ve been very successful on the luxury
side of things; since 2014 in Munster, I
have sold 10 of the 12 houses that have sold
for more than $700,000,” he said. “But that
doesn’t mean I’m focused on that market,
and I’m going to be just as passionate
about helping you find your dream home
in the median $250,000 range.”
