Focusing on Building Quality Homes

Being the third generation of a family building in Porter County since 1960, Alan Sommers began his business in 1989. He brings with him over 30 years of hands on construction experience. Sommers Construction focuses construction primarily in Porter and LaPorte Counties. Homes have been built in several area developments including, Aberdeen, Sand Creek, Tamarack, Villages of Sand Creek, Duneland Cove, and Arndt Apple Acres near Michigan City.

Alan Sommers has been a member of the Porter County Builder's Association since 1997. He has been a board member, Vice President, and served as President of the association in 2002. Sommers Construction Company has also been participating in most of the Parade of Homes in Porter County since 1997. Sommers is also a member of the La Porte County Builders Association since 2003 and uses the Quality Builders Standards program which was begun by the State Builders Association and adopted by the La Porte County Builders Association.

Sommers Construction Company has primarily focused on the move-up home buyer, building homes in the mid-range over $300,000. However, they have built commercial and professional office buildings.
