A bigger coffin?

Cassandra Peterson a.k.a. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, is having a ghoulish garage sale this week on Friday the 13th.

Turns out the 56-year-old Peterson has filed for divorce from husband/manager Mark Pierson -- married in 1981 -- and the couple are selling their Los Angeles home.

The news announcement I received Tuesday reads:

"Elvira is pulling up stakes and relocating. This Friday and Saturday at her residence, she will be selling genuine costumes, shoes, wigs, hats, plates, scripts, sofas, pottery, dishes, kitchen stuff, clothing and household items."

The spooky scary movie hostess has more than one reason for the sudden move. Peterson was plagued with flooding and mudslides last May, along with other neighbors of her gated property in the Hollywood Hills area of L.A. She has had a very long and public battle with the city about the runoff problem. Sounds like a curse to me.

Cut congrats

In an item I ran over the weekend about T.J. Maloney's Authentic Irish Pub, a portion of the column was edited for space constraints.

My compliments to Ciaran Kelly is the general manager of the new hangout, Jan Grabow, director of sales, marketing and communications for Radisson Hotel and Star Plaza, and Joe Frasca, who serves as vice president of food and beverage for White Lodging Services, the managing entity of the Radisson Hotel.
