Wanted: Michael Christopher Shoble
PORTER COUNTY | Porter County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $100 cash for information leading to the arrest of this week's Warrant of the Week, Michael Christopher Shoble.
Shoble, 25, last lived in the Salt Creek Commons, South Haven and Valparaiso areas. He is a white male, 5-foot-3 and 160 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. He has numerous tattoos, including an S on his left hand, a faded cross on his left arm and a cartoon Dopey on his right arm.
Shoble is wanted on charges of failure to register as a sex offender and failure to comply with probation. He was previously convicted of engaging in sexual misconduct with a 15-year-old victim. He also has prior drug and alcohol arrests and should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Anyone with information about Shoble is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 342-7867.
Man hospitalized after attack at Pepe's
SOUTH HAVEN | An attack at Pepe's Bar and Grill, 809 McCool Road, left one person hospitalized and the other jailed, police said.
Police said Noel Lugo, 28, of Crown Point, battered Henry Huff, 32, of South Haven. Lugo was arrested on a battery charge and Huff was admitted into Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus for treatment of internal bleeding to the head.
The incident occurred at 2:40 a.m. Wednesday.
Lugo told police that in the past, he had been romantically involved with Huff's ex-girlfriend. Lugo told police he and Huff had a verbal argument earlier in the day, then saw each other again at Pepe's and got into another argument. Police said Lugo admitted he pushed Huff into a wall and punched him in the face.
Home fills up with propane gas
PLEASANT TOWNSHIP | A Kouts area man told police he returned to his home in the 1100 block of south Ind. 49 at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday and discovered that someone turned on a gas stove burner, filling the home with propane gas.
The man, Nathan Atchison, told police he is a renter at the home and is in the process of moving. He told police nothing was taken from the home, but someone broke a basement window from the inside.
Vandalism reported at Portage High School
PORTAGE | Portage police are investigating an incident of vandalism that occurred Tuesday afternoon at Portage High School East.
Police said someone used red spray paint to damage walls, lockers and a mirror. The damage is $100. The investigation continues.

Burglary. Penna Hill Drive resident Jeremy Gilmore reported a $350 shotgun stolen from his home. Gilmore told police that while in Porter County Jail he told other inmates about his gun.

Vandalism. Westwood resident Patrick Fogarty reported someone struck his truck with eggs and paintballs.

Vandalism. David Collins reported someone put a piece of lumber with nails in it in the alley near his home on Broadway. Collins ran over the item, causing $100 damage to a vehicle tire.

Theft. Westville resident John Bolla reported a license plate stolen from his vehicle while it was parked for sale in the lot of Kmart on Indian Boundary Road.

Battery arrest. Jackie Hoffman, 30, of 340 Camelot, was arrested on charges of battery and interference with reporting a crime after she was accused of battering the man with whom she lives. She is accused of hitting the man with her fist and a chair, and of unplugging the phone to prevent police from being called.

Burglary. Patricia York and Ellan Marcum reported $350 stolen from their home on Bronze Avenue.

Theft. M&R Trucking, 5380 U.S. 20, reported a $9,000 TCF flatbed semitrailer stolen from the lot.
