THE TIMES POTLUCK CONTEST

Is your dish the first one to go at a potluck? Do friends and family rave about your cooking? Then ante up your recipe for a share of prizes totaling more than $600.

Entries must be received by snail mail, e-mail or hand delivery to our offices by noon April 14, 2006. The winners will be announced in a foodFare story on April 26.

HOW TO ENTER: Submit a picture of your favorite potluck dish, the recipe, your name, address and phone number to: POTLUCK CONTEST, c/o Barbara Rolek, The Times, 601 45th Ave., Munster, IN 46321, or by e-mail to features@nwitimes.com. Digital images, if sent, must be in jpg format and no larger than 3 MB. DO NOT SUBMIT FOOD. Recipes will be recreated in our test kitchens.

RULES: Recipes need not be original. Judging will be based on 1) taste, 2) appearance, 3) ease and completeness of recipe, 4) creativity.

PRIZES:

* 1st place, $327.47 value: Gale Gand At Home Bakeware ($135), Rival Crock-Pot BBQ Pit Slow Roaster ($119.99), Rival 6-quart Smart Pot ($69.99), Reynold's Slow Cooker Liners ($2.49).

* 2nd place, $162.42 value: Rachael Ray 5-quart Oval Jumbo Cooker ($99.95) and Rachael Ray Extra-Virgin Olive Oil ($9.99), Rival VersaWare Crock-Pot ($49.99), Reynold's Slow Cooker Liners ($2.49).

* 3rd place, $117.43 value: Ginny's Brand Cookware ($89.95), 4-quart Rival Stainless Crock-Pot ($24.99), Reynolds Liners ($2.49).

Times employees and their immediate families are not eligible to participate in this contest. Prizes must be picked up at The Times office in Munster, Crown Point or Valparaiso within one week of notification.
