FUN FAIR | Hobart
An October Fun Fair will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Christian Assembly Church, 73rd and Ind. 51. All activities are held indoors to avoid any weather concerns. Bring the family for some safe fun, all free, including trick or treating, games, clowns, food, Moonwalk and Costume Contest for children. Prizes will be awarded.

CANDIDATES NIGHT | Cedar Lake
Cedar Lake Chamber of Commerce has postponed its Candidates Night event, originally scheduled for tonight, until 6:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the After Four Club, 13109 U.S. 41. Candidates for local and township offices will each be given five minutes to explain their platform, followed by questions from the audience. The public is welcome and refreshments will be served.

LIBRARY HAUNTED | Lowell
The Lowell Public Library, after two investigations in two years by the Northwest Indiana Ghost Trackers, is designated as one of the many places in Northwest Indiana that is haunted. Members of the Ghost Trackers invite participants to learn about these haunted places, how the Ghost Trackers conduct their investigations, and the results of their many adventures in the world of the paranormal in a program at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 1505 E. Commercial Ave.

HISTORIANS MEET | Cedar Lake
Cedar Lake Historical Association hosts a talk by Greg Redeagle, a Native American, at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cedar Lake Town Hall, 7408 Constitution Ave. Redeagle will discuss the history and customs of Native Americans, including the Honor of the Eagle. Children and adults are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR | Crown Point
St. Anthony Auxiliary will hold its annual "Christmas in the Country" bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Marian Education Center at St. Anthony Medical Center, 1201 S. Main St. The bazaar is a popular community event that features all handmade items and homemade bakery items. Autumn designs will be displayed in addition to the usual Christmas styles. This year’s bazaar will showcase handmade afghans and baby items, Christmas tree skirts, stockings and ornaments, seasonal arrangements and wreaths.

BUTTER BRAIDS | Crown Point
Crown Point Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is selling Butter Braids for the upcoming holiday season. Flavors are apple, blueberry, cream cheese, cherry, cinnamon, red raspberry and also caramel rolls.Cost is $9 each and orders must be placed by Oct. 27. Delivery date is Nov. 7.

OKTOBERFEST | Crown Point
FOP Chris Anton Lodge 125 holds an Oktoberfest from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday in the 4-H Building at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 889 S. Court St. Admission is $6 for a brat, hamburger or hotdog, side dishes and three beverage tickets. Door prizes, DJ music and a raffle for a big screen TV.
