PORTAGE | The Board of Zoning Appeals this week granted a variance that will allow the sale of used cars on Southport Road.

Mike Handlon, representing George Marjanov, told the board that Marjanov has been operating a repair shop for European-made vehicles on four acres at 5400 Southport Road for the last 11 years. He'd now like to sell some of the vehicles he has repaired.

Handlon told board members that Marjanov plans on not having any more than 10 vehicles for sale at one time and that the nature of the property will remain primarily an auto repair shop.

Marjanov said he plans to pave a portion of the graveled parking area around his shop. Board members had no objections to the use variance request and approved it unanimously.
