There’s so much going on in Hammond, I’ll get right to it. Join us on Saturday down Indianapolis Boulevard for the long-standing Hammond tradition, the Holiday Parade. We start at 10 a.m. at Gavit High School and end at 169th and Woodmar Avenue. Back by popular demand are the Jesse White Tumblers, the South Shore Drill Team and area marching bands. Of course, Santa and his elves will be there, too. Bring the entire family and dress warmly.

On Tuesday, Total Home Health Services is providing flu shots from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Hammond Civic Center. Bring your Medicaid or Medicare card, check or cash. For an appointment, call (219) 937-3750.

The Towle Community Theater only has a handful of tickets remaining for the Dec. 14 performance of “A Fabulous '50s Christmas." A new addition this year is a snapshot of the '40s hit parade titled “Sentimental Journey.” Catch it this weekend and Dec. 13 and 14 for only $15. Call (219) 937-8780 for reservations.

Beatniks on Conkey is having Ladies Night, the Christmas Show at 7 p.m. Saturday. An Italian dinner is included for $20. Next up at Beatniks is Jacob Marley’s “A Christmas Carol” by Tom Mula on Dec. 12 to 14 and 19 to 20. Cost is $12 and refreshments are included. Call (219) 852-0848 for reservations.

At 10 a.m. Dec. 13, tickets for WWE’s RAW go on sale at the Hammond Civic Center box office (no phone orders). Tickets range from $20 to $50. The show is at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the Jean Shepherd Center from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16. Call (800) GIVE-LIFE for an appointment or walk in.

Hammond’s annual Seniors Only Christmas Party is from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Civic Center. Cost is $8 and includes a live band, dancing, lunch and door prize drawings donated by generous local businesses. The last day to RSVP with payment is Wednesday. Come to the Civic Center business office or call (219) 853-6378.

On Dec. 18, Total Fight Challenge is holding a charitable event to benefit the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program. Bring an unopened, unwrapped, new toy to the Civic Center and receive $5 off the ticket price. Doors open at 6 p.m. Call (773) 582-9106.

Here’s another cool stocking stuffer idea for the X-treme sports fan. From Dec. 26 to 28, the Hammond Civic Center is hosting its first Axiom Aren Cross, a MotorCross motorcycle racing event! If you are a competitor in this sport, there is an open pro 122cc and up with nice cash prizes, but you must be at all three main events. If you are a spectator, prepare yourself for three days full of adrenaline, dirt and gas fumes! Get $10 off if you purchase in advance. Call (574) 893-1649 or (219) 545-5064 for information. Tickets are also available at the Civic Center Box Office or your local MotorCross dealer.
