Whether you are 5 or 95, bowling is great entertainment, said Dan Barton, general manager of the Merrillville Stardust Bowl location.

Stardust opened in 1973 and all ages still flock to its two locations for bowling and entertainment.

Barton said. “It’s a recognizable brand here in Northwest Indiana … I still get people coming in here all the time who say they’ve been coming here for 30 odd years. We’ve got league bowlers who have been here that long, too.”

Some staff members have worked at Stardust for 10 or 20 years, Barton said, noting that they’ve been blessed with a great group of employees.

“They bring that level of experience. It’s a friendly face at the front counter and the bar, wherever you are.”

Both locations offer open bowling, leagues and tournaments. The Merrillville Stardust also features 20 billiards tables, while the Dyer Stardust features a giant game room with ticket prizes and birthday party rooms geared toward kids. Both locations serve food and have lounges.
