The Shrine of Christ's Passion
10630 Wicker Ave (US 41)
Saint John, Ind.
Visitors are invited to "Come Take the Journey" -- an interactive half-mile winding pathway that begins with the Last Supper and Garden of Gethsemane and continues through the Passion of Christ as depicted in the Stations of the Cross.
Over 1,000 trees and bushes, beautiful natural boulders from central Wisconsin and decorative stamped concrete paths set the stage for over 40 life-size bronze statues.
Anyone who appreciates the artistry of sculpting, landscape and set design will be blown away," visitor James B. from South Pasadena, CA said. ". . . it's a unique outdoor museum great for quiet reflective time. I especially liked the soundtrack . . . at each sculpture station is an interactive commentary narrative from (Chicago's own) Bill Kurtis."
Pathways are illuminated for early evening use. Open year round, admission to The Shrine of Christ's Passion is free (donations accepted). The onsite Visitor's Center features unique religious and inspirational products and is open daily from 10am-5pm.
