Generations of families have been coming to Warsaw Inn in Lynwood, Ill., to experience the best Polish food in the region, said Angie Golom, the restaurant’s owner.
The buffet, which opened it’s Lynwood location in 1980, offers more than 60 items daily, focusing on ethnic and American food.
The restaurant makes everything from scratch, with many recipes coming directly from Golom’s family in Poland.
There are carving stations for roast beef and ham, as well as salad and dessert tables. Polish favorites include stuffed cabbage, polish sausage, sauerkraut, potato pancakes and five kinds of pierogi.
“When people that move out of the area come back, we are the restaurant they want to come back to,” she says. “We make things the old-fashioned way, from scratch.”
