Maruszczak Appliance is a family-owned and operated business that began as a repair shop in the early 1950s in Hammond. Today the original owner, Nick Maruszczak, still works in the store, working alongside his sons, Owner Doug Maruszczak Sr. and Nick Maruszczak, and grandchildren.

Maruszczak still offers service for all types of appliances, as well as a variety of product lines that were introduced in 1987, including all major brands of home laundry, kitchen cooking and refrigeration, cooking ventilation, wine and beverage refrigeration, waste disposals and compactors, beer kegerators, vacuums by Miele, and beds by the Green Bedding line from HGTV/Serta.

Doug Maruszczak, Jr. says, "We're a known name in the area. Second and third generation customers come to us. But that only goes so far. We go above and beyond to remedy problems. Problems happen, like it or not, with any kind of machinery and we remedy whatever comes up instead of pushing problems aside. We will go to a home three or four times to make sure a client is happy with their purchase. We still have a personalized sales approach and we're there every day talking to customers. Here you can actually interact with the owners, so there's faith to put with the name."
