GARY | The RailCats head into today's doubleheader in a tough pitching conundrum.

The 'Cats were only able to use Stephen Bougher for two innings in Saturday's rain out. Neither pitcher gave up a hit in the first two innings, but Lincoln starter Nick Green walked two RailCats.

The RailCats left two on through two innings before the deluge began and forced the rainout.

A reminder: the two games will be seven innings each in regulation, though in the previous two doubleheaders played at U.S. Steel Yard this year, both first games have gone extras.

Michael Click, a righty, will pitch for the Saltdogs. Drew Muren is walked after facing a 1-2 count. Danny Pulfer lines between first and second, the ball is stopped by Luis Nunez and thrown to second, taking out Muren. Pulfer is safe at first on the fielder's choice. A single into right field by Drew Martinez moves Pulfer to third. Zac Mitchell lays down a sac bunt that scores Pulfer. Martinez is on second. Single up the middle by Ryan Babineau scores Martinez from second. Babineau steals second on the first pitch to Jeremy Hamilton. Hamilton grounds out to short. End 3rd inning: RailCats 2, Saltdogs 0

A sac fly by Danny Pulfer scores Romanski. Drew Martinez flies out to center. End 4th inning: RailCats 4, Saltdogs 0

Fifth inning

Chris Anderson is the third K of the day for Travis McGee (whose parents are here today, we're told). Anderson is the fifth K of the game for the RailCats. Ninth inning

Ethan Gibbons will pitch for the RailCats. There's a four-pitcher no-hitter on the line for Gibbons. So far, three pitchers have combined for 11 strikeouts and two walks. Leo Vargas strikes out swinging. That's 12 K for the RailCats pitching staff. Chad Mozingo looks to break the no-hitter for sure with a near line drive to left, but it's caught on the run by Josh Romanski. An infield single by Luis Nunez breaks the no-hitter. Matt Forgatch flies out to right. Final: RailCats 4, Saltdogs 0

SECOND GAME

Greg Tagert said he didn't realize the no-hitter was on until the seventh inning. He said he's only ever been a part of one: when he managed in Kenosha and third-base coach Dennis Pelfry caught the no-hitter.
