GARY | The RailCats front office staff removed the tarp from the field at 4:30, but with maintenance to be done, this will likely either erase or severely delay batting practice.

The RailCats teed off on the Wichita pitching staff last night, taking all the BP they needed with 17 hits, three of them for extra bases.

Every 'Cats batter to the plate either scored a run or had a hit off off the Wichita staff.

Adam Klein strikes out looking. He disagrees and asks the home plate ump for confirmation. Mike Massaro strikes out swinging. Cristian Guerrero also strikes out swinging. End 1st inning: RailCats 0, Wingnuts 0

Second inning

CJ Ziegler is walked on four pitches. Brent Clevlen flies out to right field. Ziegler takes second on a wild pitch. Abel Nieves grounds into a fielder's choice at short, taking Ziegler out at third. A double to the right-center gap by Cole Armstrong scores Nieves. David Amberson grounds out to short. Mid 2nd inning: Wingnuts 1, RailCats 0

Reid Fronk pops out to third base. Ryan Babineau grounds out to second. Brian Kolb singles up the middle. Drew Martinez strikes out swinging. Chris Smith has four K, as many in two innings as Junior Guerra had in 5 2/3 last night. End 2nd inning: Wingnuts 1, RailCats 0

Third inning

Jared McDonald grounds out to first. Ryan Khoury hits an infield single to reach. Jake Kahaulelio hits to second, Danny Pulfer steps on the bag to try to take out Khoury, but on the hit and run, Khoury had already touched the bag. Pulfer then threw to first, put it was out of the reach of Fronk and the error on Pulfer allows Khoury to reach third. John Rodriguez pops out to short. CJ Ziegler lines out to third, Brian Kolb makes the amazing diving catch for the final out. Mid 3rd inning: Wingnuts 1, RailCats 0

Zac Mitchell is hit by a pitch. Danny Pulfer hits a sac bunt back to the mound. Adam Klein singles into right scoring Mitchell. Mike Massaro hits an infield single up the middle, Jake Kahaulelio throws to third and catches Adam Klein off base. Massaro is caught stealing second. End 3rd inning: RailCats 1, Wingnuts 1

Fourth inning

Brent Clevlen flies out to center field. Abel Nieves strikes out swinging. Cole Armstrong is caught checking his swing. Mid 4th inning: RailCats 1, Wingnuts 1

Cristian Guerrero hits an infield single. Reid Fronk singles into left field to move Guerrero to second. Ryan Babineau strikes out swinging. Brian Kolb singles into left field, scoring Guerrero. Drew Martinez flies out foul to left field. Zac Mitchell flies out to center. End 4th inning: RailCats 2, Wingnuts 1

Fifth inning

David Amberson singles into shallow right field. Jared McDonald flies out to center. Ryan Khoury grounds to second where Danny Pulfer flips the ball under his arm to start the 4-6-3 double play. Mid 5th inning: RailCats 2, Wingnuts 1

Danny Pulfer flies out to right field. Adam Klein flies out to center field. Mike Massaro pops out to short. End 5th inning: RailCats 2, Wingnuts 1

Sixth inning

Jake Kahaulelio grounds out to short. John Rodriguez singles up the middle, Stephen Hiscock has to duck to not have his head taken off. CJ Ziegler has his first hit of the night, a single between third and short. Brent Clevlen singles to load the bases. A single by Able Nieves scores Rodriguez and Zielger. A single up the middle by Cole Armstrong scores Clevlen. David Amberson strikes out looking. That's it for Hiscock, who leaves with 3 Ks. Chuck Fontana will replace Hiscock. Jared McDonald tries a bunt on the first pitch he sees, Fontana easily fields for the final out. Mid 6th inning: Wingnuts 4, RailCats 2

Cristian Guerrero flies out to center field. Reid Fronk is hit by a pitch. Ryan Babineau grounds to second, where Fronk is taken out, but the relay to first isn't in time to take out Babineau. Brian Kolb grounds to short, where Babineau is out at second. End 6th inning: Wingnuts 4, RailCats 2

Seventh inning

Will Krout will start the seventh for the RailCats. Ryan Khoury strikes out swinging. Jake Kahaulelio flies out to right. John Rodriguez grounds back to the mound. 7th-inning stretch: Wingnuts 4, RailCats 2

Drew Martinez flies out to center. Zac Mitchell flies out to left. Danny Pulfer pops out to second base. End 7th inning: Wingnuts 4, RailCats 2

Eighth inning

CJ Ziegler strikes out swinging. Brent Clevlen flies out to right field. Abel Nieves is walked with two out. That's it for Will Krout, who is replaced by Marco Gonzalez, pitching in his first game since Aug. 4. Cole Armstrong strikes out swinging. Mid 8th inning: Wingnuts 4, RailCats 2

Chris Smith returns for the eighth. He's thrown just 95 pitches. On his 100th pitch, Adam Klein strikes out swinging. On the eighth pitch of his at-bat, Mike Massaro singles into right field. Cristian Guerrero is walked, unintentionally. That's it for Chris Smith, who leaves after 7 1/3, 1 walk, 6 Ks. Nick Walters is the reliever. Reid Fronk flies out to center. Josh Dew will now pitch for Wichita. RailCats are playing the matchups, too, bringing in Craig Maddox vs. righty Dew. Massaro advances on a 1-2 stolen base and the wild pitch to Maddox advances Guerrero. None of it matters as Maddox strikes out. End 8th inning: Wingnuts 4, RailCats 2

Ninth inning

Kyle Lindquist will pitch the ninth for the RailCats. David Amberson pops out to shallow center, a ball caught by Zac Mitchell from short. Jared McDonald doubles to right. On the first pitch to Ryan Khoury, McDonald is caught trying to steal third. Khoury flies out to left. Mid 9th inning: Wingnuts 4, RailCats 2

Brian Kolb triples with a ball that barely kisses the right-field line to open the inning. Drew Martinez hits an infield single, out-running the pitcher to first, scoring Kolb. Zac Mitchell lays down a sac bunt to move Martinez to second. Danny Pulfer grounds out to third. A single by Adam Klein scores Martinez to tie the game. Mike Massaro grounds out to second. End 9th inning: RailCats 4, Wingnuts 4

10th inning

Lindquist returns for the 10th inning. Ian Durham is throwing in the pen. Jake Kahaulelio is hit by a 1-2 pitch. John Rodriguez lays down a sac bunt to move Kahaulelio to second. CJ Ziegler is intentionally walked. Ian Durham will replace Lindquist. Brent Clevlen doubles into the right-center gap to score Kahaulelio. Abel Nieves is intentionally walked. A sac fly by Cole Armstrong scores Ziegler. David Amberson strikes out swinging. Mid 10th inning: Wingnuts 6, RailCats 4
