GARY | If you're just rising from the haze of the Blackhawks Stanley Cup Championship win Monday night, remember that the RailCats game ended later.

The 'Cats finished after 11 p.m. thanks in part to a 73-minute rain delay, and in part to scoring 16 runs total in a 10-6 Gary win.

The RailCats had little time to sleep in Tuesday morning, up for a noon game against Kansas City.

Will Krout will be activated from the disabled list to start against the T-Bones. The corresponding move is forthcoming.

Today's lineup:

Kansas City T-Bones (15-22)

LF Justin Bass

CF Kennard Jones

2B Jairo Perez

1B Matt Padgett

SS Devin Goodwin

RF Brandon Jones

DH Ray Sadler

C Steve Yoo

3B Jeff Squier

RHP Lucas Irvine (1-3, 3.18 ERA)

RailCats (21-15)

LF Adam Klein

RF Mike Massaro

DH Cristian Guerrero

C Craig Maddox

1B Christian Vitters

3B Brian Kolb

CF Drew Martinez

SS Zac Mitchell

2B Chase Tucker

RHP Will Krout (1-4, 6.45 ERA)

Krout's last start was June 17 at Wichita, in which he went 6 1/3 innings, gave up 10 hits, seven runs and six strikeouts. He has allowed double-digit hits in his last three starts and in four of seven appearances this season. The seven runs allowed was the most he's given up this season, and the six strikeouts were also a season high. Of his seven starts, he has a decision in five games.

Word comes at 12:10 (after national anthem, but before first pitch) on Krout move. First baseman Steve Liddle is traded to Southern Illinois of the Fronter League for a player to be named later.

Liddle played in 25 games for the RailCats this season, hitting .226 with four doubles, a trip and eight RBIs.

Liddle's career batting average is .244, but he's always had the capability to be an extra-base hitter, something the RailCats have been in need of this season.

With the dimensions of U.S. Steel Yard (400 center, 335 right and 320 left) with the 12-foot tall walls, the park has never produced players who will hit 25 or 30 homers a season. However, the 'Cats are far last in the league this year with five homers as leader Kansas City has 49.

The RailCats, however, lead the league in triples with 17 and are tied for last with 53 doubles (tying Winnipeg).

First inning

Justin Bass flies out to left-center, caught on the run by Drew Martinez. Kennard Jones flies out to center, not as far of a trip for Drew Martinez, who took about four steps backward to make the catch. Jario Perez grounds out to short. Mid 1st inning: T-Bones 0, RailCats 0

Adam Klein hits bunt down the first-base line that is gobbled up by the first baseman, who out-touches Klein to the bag. Mike Massaro grounds out to short, with a hard-hit ball. Cristian Guerrero grounds out to second. End 1st inning: RailCats 0, T-Bones 0.

Second inning

Matt Padgett grounds out to second. Devin Goodwin and Brandon Jones strike out swinging. Mid 2nd inning: RailCats 0, T-Bones 0

Craig Maddox strikes out swinging and is out when the dropped third strike is thrown home. Christian Vitters strikes out swinging. Brian Kolb grounds out to first. End 2nd inning: RailCats 0, T-Bones 0.

Third inning

Ray Sadler strikes out swinging. Steve Yoo flies out to left field. The first hit of the game comes off the bat of Jeff Squier, a triple to right-center. Justin Bass doubles to score Squier. Kennard Jones flies out to center field, a ball that carries and sends Drew Martinez to the warning track. Mid 3rd inning: T-Bones 1, RailCats 0

Drew Martinez grounds out to first. Zac Mitchell grounds out to third. Chase Tucker strikes out swinging. End 3rd inning: T-Bones 1, RailCats 0

Fourth inning

Jairo Perez strikes out, that's four Ks for Will Krout. Matt Padgett grounds out to third and Devin Goodwin flies out to right. Mid 4th inning: T-Bones 1, RailCats 0

Adam Klein is walked. Surprise. Mike Massaro doubles to the wall in deeeeeeep center. He scores Klein, but is out at third trying to stretch it to a triple. It would have been his eighth triple, instead it's his 10th double. Cristian Guerrero strikes out, KC catcher Steve Yoo thinks the inning is over. He's sent back out to the field, quickly hangs his head. Craig Maddox singles to short and the SS overthrows first. The inning is definitely not over as Maddox is on second base. Christian Vitters strikes out. End 4th inning: RailCats 1, T-Bones 1.

Fifth inning

Brandon Jones opens with a double that hugs the right-field line. Ray Sadler pops out to second base. Steve Yoo grounds out to first, moving Jones to third. Jeff Squier hits a low floating ball to short for the third out. Mid 5th inning: RailCats 1, T-Bones 1

Brian Kolb grounds out to second. Drew Martinez flies out to center. Zac Mitchell strikes out swinging, out at first on the dropped third strike throw. End 5th inning: RailCats 1, T-Bones 1

Sixth inning

Justin Bass is walked. That's only the eighth walk issued by Krout this season. Kennard Jones grounds to second, Bass is out on the fielder's choice. Jairo Perez singles with an odd high floating ball into very shallow right field. Jones is on third. Matt Padgett grounds into a double play. Mid 6th inning: RailCats 1, T-Bones 1

Chase Tucker flies out to center. Adam Klein walks. Then quickly steals second. Mike Massaro grounds out to second, moving Klein to third. Cristian Guererro flies out to right-center. End 6th inning: RailCats 1, T-Bones 1

Seventh inning

Devin Goodwin singles through a pair of diving infielders -- in this case, third and short. Goodwin steals second. Brandon Jones singles to move Goodwin to third. Ray Sadler hits a sac fly to center, scoring Goodwin. Steve Yoo also flies out to center. Jeff Squier tries a bunt, but Will Krout makes the out. Mid 7th inning: T-Bones 2, RailCats 1

Craig Maddox singles past a diving second basemen. The RailCats have three hits, Maddox has two of them. Christian Vitters hits a ball to right-center. The ball is lost under the boards, and it's ruled a ground-rule double, so Vitters is on second and Maddox on third. A bloop single by Brian Kolb scores Maddox. That'll be it for Irvine, who went six-plus innings with six strikeouts. Drew Martinez strikes out swinging. Danny Pulfer is pinch hitting for Zac Mitchell. Pulfer singles to score Vitters. Sean Toler will replace Jose Jimenez. Brian Kolb is caught at third on the double steal try. Pulfer is at second. Chase Tucker took nine pitches for an eventual walk. Not effective pitching from Toler. Adam Klein swings at the first pitch (WHAT?!) and flies out to left field. End 7th inning: RailCats 3, T-Bones 2.

Eighth inning

New RailCats pitcher is Marco Gonzalez. Pulfer is at first, Vitters is at short. Krout leaves the game with 82 pitches in seven innings. He's in line for his first win since May 24. Justin Bass doubles to lead off the inning, looks like he pulled a muscle coming into second base. Pitcher Ethan Cole will run for him. Kennard Jones flies out to left, Ethan Cole runs to third, unnecessarily sliding. Jairo Perez lays down a bunt single. Matt Padgett's sac fly to shallow left scores Cole. On the next pitch, Jairo Perez is caught trying to steal second. Mid 8th inning: RailCats 3, T-Bones 3

Cole, a pitcher, will remain in the game. Mike Massaro flies out to left (to Cole). Cristian Guerrero singles into shallow right field. Craig Maddox walks. Christian Vitters pops out foul to first base. Brian Kolb grounds out to short, where Maddox is out at second. End 8th inning: RailCats 3, T-Bones 3.

Ninth inning

Clay Zavada will close for the RailCats. Devin Goodwin strikes out swinging. Brandon Jones flies out to center. Ray Sadler walks, there's a meeting on the mound with the ump which wonders if there's a possibility of Zavada is injured. Steve Yoo strikes out swinging, then is out on the dropped third strike throw to first base. Mid 9th inning: RailCats 3, T-Bones 3

New T-Bones pitcher is Chad Robinson. Drew Martinez opens the inning with a double. Danny Pulfer hits a sac bunt to put Martinez on third. Ryan Babineau will pinch hit for Chase Tucker. Babineau strikes out swinging. On a first pitch wild pitch to Adam Klein, Martinez scores the winning run. Final score: RailCats 4, T-Bones 3
