What if? It's the most intriguing question in life. How would things turn out if only some other decision would've been made? If an event played out just a bit differently?

ESPN's Bill Simmons has spent a lot of time deconstructing some of the biggest "What If's" in the NBA in his "The Book of Basketball." I've always been intrigued by the concept of taking one single event and figuring out how things could've, would've or should've been had that event not occurred.

This past season marked the 15-year anniversary of "The Shot," and to commemorate, I'm going to take a look back at some interesting "What If" scenarios that have played out for the Valparaiso men's basketball team over the last 15 seasons.

What injury changed Valparaiso basketball the most? What transfer still eats at Homer Drew? If Scott Drew never left Valparaiso, would the Crusaders still be playing at the Athletics-Recreation Center?

Every Monday I'll look at a different scenario. I've selected one question from each of the last 15 seasons, but I'm open to any scenarios you might have. If there is a "What If" that you have in mind, please shoot me an email at pgmado@gmail.com.

We'll begin this Monday with a look at an interesting moment from the 2012-13 season that just may have altered the course of the entire year.
