The chief executive officer of Indianapolis-based ExactTarget Inc. says this week's multi-million dollar acquisitions are very strategic. Scott Dorsey says the Pardot deal allows for a deeper push into business-to-business marketing automation and web personalization efforts should increase with the purchase of Indianapolis-based iGoDigital. State Executes Lottery Deal

The State Lottery Commission says it has executed the 15-year privatization deal with GTECH Indiana LLC . The plan calls for GTECH to handle day-to-day administration of marketing, sales, distribution and customer service starting early next year. Hoosier Lottery Executive Director Karl Browning discussed the deal during an appearance on Inside INdiana Business Television.

 

Seismic Testing For Oil to Begin in Terre Haute

Oil exploration begins this weekend in downtown Terre Haute. Indiana State University says seismic testing starts today around campus with "shaker trucks." Earlier this year, the Terre Haute Board of Zoning Appeals approved plans for drilling beneath the university.

 

Hendricks Regional Health Appoints CEO

A St. Vincent Health executive has been named the new chief executive officer of Hendricks Regional Health. Kevin Speer is succeeding Dennis Dawes who retired in May after 38 years as the hospital's chief executive.

 

Trelleborg Part of Lunar X Prize Effort

An Allen County manufacturer is partnering with a technology developer to enter the Google Lunar X Prize competition. Trelleborg Sealing Solutions in Fort Wayne says it will provide products and instruction to Omega Envoy, a non-profit company vying to win the contest.

 

Purdue Hits Athletics Facilities Milestone

Purdue University trustees have approved plans for a $13 million softball stadium. It is the final piece of an athletics facilities master plan which was put together about six years ago. During a recent interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, Purdue Athletics Director Morgan Burke talked with Bill Benner about the initiative.

 

Chamber Urges Council Not to Tap CIB Fund

A proposal by some members of the City-County Council to dip into the Capital Improvement Board budget is drawing the ire of the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce president. Scott Miller calls the plan "irresponsible" and urges the council to seek a longer-term solution.

 

Green BEAN Delivery to Farm on Zoo Land

Indianapolis-based Green BEAN Delivery will begin a partnership with the Cincinnati Zoo. The company has leased 50 acres of property owned by the zoo, which it will use to harvest crops that will be distributed in the area.

 

Youth Summit Coming to Fort Wayne

A youth leadership summit is set for next month in Fort Wayne. Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana will host the event, which aims to strengthen the connection between people in their 20s and 30s and the city.

 

IU to Dedicate Habitat 'Blitz Build'

A dedication ceremony is planned tomorrow at Indiana University in Bloomington for a Habitat for Humanity house near Memorial Stadium. The project, a partnership with Whirlpool Corp. (NYSE: WHR), has been a so-called blitz build. We'll have more details about the initiative this weekend on Inside INdiana Business Television.

 

Aquatic Center Going up at State Park

A groundbreaking is set Monday for a $6 million aquatic recreation center at Prophetstown State Park near Lafayette. The facility is expected to open next summer.

 

Manchester to Dedicate Fort Wayne Campus

Manchester University will hold a ceremony to officially open its pharmacy campus next week in Fort Wayne. The $20 million main building opened to students and faculty in June and includes laboratories, an art gallery and conference facilities.
