Ivy Tech Community College says the ultimate goal of its ambitious strategic plan is to help Indiana reach its higher education objectives. Indiana University East has named Kathryn Cruz-Uribe chancellor. She most recently served as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at California State University, Monterey Bay. She replaces Nasser Paydar, who took a job as IUPUI vice chancellor last year.

Republic Reports Major Swing to Profit

Indianapolis-based Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq: RJET) is reporting a full year 2012 profit of $51.3 million, compared to a net loss of $151.8 million a year earlier. Chief Executive Officer Bryan Bedford cites restructuring the Chautauqua Airlines Inc. platform as a reason for the improvement.

Emmis Sells Slovakian Network

Indianapolis-based Emmis Communications Corp. has sold a national radio network in Europe. Germany-based Bauer Media Group has acquired the network in Slovakia for approximately $21 million.

 

AM General Secures Egyptian Deal

South Bend-based AM General LLC has landed a more than $7 million Foreign Military Sales for Egypt contract. The work involves engines for Humvees and is slated to be complete in July.

 

Notre Dame VP Heading to DePaul

University of Notre Dame Vice President Don Pope-Davis has been hired to be the next provost of DePaul University. He has served in various leadership roles with Notre Dame during the past 13 years.

 

I&M Looking to Buy Wind Power

Fort Wayne-based Indiana Michigan Power is looking to increase its inventory of wind energy. The utility has issued a Request for Proposals for a long-term lease to purchase up to 200 megawatts for use by customers.

 

Health Information Exchange Adds Hospital

Decatur County Memorial Hospital has joined the Indiana Health Information Exchange. The move connects the Greensburg facility to an electronic network of more than 25,000 physicians and 90 hospitals throughout the state.

 

Lawson Unveils Elected Official-Finding App

The Indiana Secretary of State's office has launched an app that allows users to find and contact their elected representatives using GPS technology. The Who Are Your Elected Officials program was developed in partnership with Bloomington-based 39 Degrees North LLC.
