The company would like to produce spirits, such as bourbon, if Indiana joins a growing list of states allowing craft distilling. Sun King is already in the midst of a huge expansion for its brewing operation. Proposal Calls For New $400 Million Reservoir
The Anderson/Madison County Corporation for Economic Development is proposing an ambitious $350-$400 million reservoir project. "Project Oasis," the code name for the Mounds Lake project, would use the White River as its source and encompass more than 2,000 acres throughout Madison and Delaware counties.
Furniture Maker Aims to Expand
Smith Brothers of Berne Inc. is looking to expand and add jobs. The Journal Gazette in Fort Wayne reports the furniture maker plans to invest up to $5 million to upgrade facilities and hire around 20 employees. The company credits much of its growth to a consumer trend to buy American and was recently featured on Discovery Channel's "In View" with Larry King.
Hurco Announces New President
Indianapolis-based Hurco Companies Inc. has named a new president. Gregory Volovic moves into the role after serving as an executive vice president. He has been with Hurco since 2005.
TV Drama to Feature Indiana Medical Device
A tumor removal device developed by Indianapolis-based NICO Corp. will be featured on a TNT drama series Monday. The show "Monday Mornings" will feature brain surgery using the Myriad, which the company introduced in 2009.
