A $63 million renovation at the Indiana State Fairgrounds is on budget and likely to be complete earlier than expected. Publicity-Media Relations Manager Andy Klotz says the project is expected to be complete in April, months ahead of schedule. He is hopeful there will be an announcement "in the near future" about a hockey team that could call the venue home. Improvements to the 74-year-old facility include a hanging overhead scoreboard and upgraded concourses. Klotz says the coliseum is "the most vital piece of our economic puzzle."

INDOT Awards Final U.S. 31 Major Moves Contract

A Fort Wayne-based company has landed the last construction contract for U.S. 31 improvements through the state's Major Moves initiative. The Indiana Department of Transportation says Primco Inc. will develop an interchange just north of U.S. 30 in Plymouth.

Proposed Solar Farm Facing Key Vote

A plan to build an eight-acre solar farm in the Madison County community of Frankton is set to go before the town council next week for zoning approval. Hulman & Co. Announces Key Motorsports Appointments

The reorganization of the INDYCAR and Indianapolis Motor Speedway business operations is complete. Hulman & Co. has named former Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) executive C.J. O'Donnell chief marketing officer of Hulman Motorsports. Jay Frye, a racing executive with NASCAR experience, has been appointed chief revenue officer.

October State Revenue Tops Target

The Indiana State Budget Agency says October revenues were nearly $9 million above the latest forecast. The state says it is the first month of Fiscal Year 2014 that revenue collections were above target.

A new digital marketing company has been launched in Indianapolis. StrataBlue plans to hire 25 workers within the coming months to fill social media and account executive roles.

Indianapolis-based Stonegate Mortgage Corp. has announced a potential deal for a Texas-based company. It involves Nationstar Mortgage Holdings Inc.'s (NYSE: NSM) wholesale lending channel.

Purdue Details Computer Science Plans

Purdue University is planning to enroll more graduate and undergraduate computer science students. It also intends to hire more faculty and staff to maintain the computer science department's education and research standards. President Mitch Daniels touched on the plans earlier this year and more details were unveiled this morning during a forum on the West Lafayette campus.

A new strategic alliance will help advance worker and transportation safety in the state's agriculture industry. The Indiana Department of Labor and Indianapolis-based Dow AgroSciences say the two-year partnership will inform and engage key players in the agricultural sector on health and safety technology and innovations.

AT&T Upgrades Southern Indiana Service

AT&T Inc. has expanded 4G LTE coverage in parts of southern Indiana. The company has upgraded cell sites in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick counties.
