Yorktown-based Mursix Corp. has announced plans to expand its headquarters and create more than 100 jobs by 2017. The company says the $7 million investment will allow it to build components for alternative energy applications for use in the automotive, electronics and security markets. Chief Executive Officer Todd Murray says increased demand for hybrid vehicles has led in large part to the expansion.

Construction to Begin on Ivy Tech Campus

A groundbreaking ceremony is set for this afternoon for a new Ivy Tech Community College campus in Anderson. Work is slated to be complete in time for the 2015 fall semester.

Purdue Announces New Provost

Purdue University has named the dean of the Graduate College at the University of Illinois its new provost. Debasish Dutta has also been serving as associate provost in Urbana-Champaign. He succeeds Tim Sands, who left Purdue to become president of Virginia Tech University.

Country Star to Sing Anthem at Indy 500

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has announced country music star LeAnn Rimes will sing the national anthem before this month's Indianapolis 500. The Grammy Award winner has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide.

Deal Connects Purdue to Navy Priority

Purdue University President Mitch Daniels hopes an agreement being signed this afternoon will lead to a broad research arrangement with the U.S. Navy. He tells Inside INdiana Business the university stands to "occupy a large space" in the Navy's efforts to transition to more renewable and secure energy technology.

Amazon Adds Cities to Sunday Delivery List

Online retailer Inc. has added Sunday delivery in Indianapolis. The company says Louisville and Cincinnati are also among the 15 cities where the service is now available. Read More

First Farmers Acquires BMO Branches

Converse-based First Farmers Financial Corp. has signed a deal with BMO Harris Bank N.A. involving multiple Indiana BMO locations. The agreement is expected to be complete by the end of the year and includes First Farmers' acquisition of deposit relationships and branches.

Cummins VP to Retire

A longtime Cummins Inc. executive is retiring. Jeff Jones is the Columbus-based company's vice president for the North American engine business and marketing communications. He joined Cummins in 1977. Read More

Conexus Grows Staff, Programs

Indiana's advanced manufacturing and logistics initiative says it is adding staff to support the growth of some programs. Conexus Indiana says the new hires will help lead initiatives including an online community linking Indiana suppliers as well as the organization's work force development programs.

Renovations Underway at Indy Apartments

An Indianapolis apartment complex is undergoing $2 million in renovations. Connecticut-based Shamrock Communities LLC, which owns The Cottages at Fall Creek, says the upgrades include a redesign of the complex community center and electric and plumbing improvements.
