Indianapolis-based Intelligent Environmental Leasing LLC is seeking tax abatement on a $1.5 million plan to upgrade a warehouse and office space. Open Control Systems LLC would be the property's primary tenant and retain its current work force as well as add more than two dozen employees by 2016.

Velocity Indiana Hitting Milestone

Velocity Indiana is set to mark its anniversary Thursday. The Jeffersonville-based entrepreneurial leadership organization says it has mentored more than three dozen startups and served 30 tenants in its coworking space during its first year.

Indiana Schools Make Peace Corps Rankings

Multiple Indiana colleges are on the Peace Corps' 2013 list of the top volunteer-producing schools throughout the country. The organization says about 120 Indiana residents are currently serving.

IU Med School Expanding Muncie Program

The Indiana University School of Medicine is expanding its program in Muncie to four years. The center, which is based at Ball State University, is the last of the school's eight education centers to offer four years of training.

STEM Program Joins National Partnership

A state network focusing on science, technology, engineering and math education is now part of a national program designed to train 100,000 teachers in those fields by 2012. I-STEM Resource Network Managing Director Paul Ainslie says the partnership with 100Kin10 will help achieve the goal of having teachers implement high standards to provide STEM literacy for all students.

Green BEAN Adds Another Market

Indianapolis-based Green BEAN Delivery continues to grow. The grocery delivery company is expanding to the Batesville-Oldenburg area. It already has more than 15,000 customers in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Missouri.

Monroe County Touting Tourism

A study released by Visit Bloomington suggests the area's tourism industry supported more than 4,100 jobs in 2013. The organization says the industry also accounted for an increase in sales in 2013.

TEDxPurdueU Releases Event Details

A TEDx event is set for next month at Purdue University. TEDxPurdueU 2014 speakers will include an independent filmmaker, a musician and the technology manager of a bowling ball manufacturer.

Eiteljorg Museum Receives Gift

Two Indianapolis philanthropists have donated $500,000 to the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. The Indianapolis museum will name its gift shop after Frank and Katrina Basile. Read More
