Purdue Extension specialists says hot, dry weather is damaging the state's corn and soybean crops. Bob Nielsen says yields from corn, the state's largest crop, could drop up to 10 percent.


Longtime State Representative Resigning

Indiana House Representative Phyllis Pond (R-85) has announced her resignation. She has represented her northeast Indiana district since 1978. Pond says a diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis is leading her to leave office in September.


Lilly Adds to Board of Directors

Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co.'s board has elected Marschall Runge as a new member. He is the executive dean for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's school of medicine.


Angie's List to Be Honored For Child Care

Indianapolis-based Angie's List Inc. will be recognized later this year for its on-site daycare program. The consumer review company will receive the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation Corporate Leadership Award at a November event in Philadelphia.
