The owner of a central Indiana haunted house is hoping to grow his business of fear. Benjamin Nagengast of Indy Scream Park says his family has already invested around $1 million into the Anderson operation, which includes three indoor and two outdoor attractions that employ more than 150 seasonal workers. He says the park draws visitors from up to four hours away. Nagengast outlined his vision for the business during an appearance on Inside INdiana Business Television.

 

Lilly to Announce Expansion

Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. plans to announce a significant expansion at its insulin manufacturing operations Thursday. The company says the multi-million dollar project will mark the first time it has expanded Indianapolis manufacturing facilities in more than 20 years.

 

Businesses Gain Access to Mishawaka Fiber

The city of Mishawaka has signed an agreement to open its fiber optic network to area businesses. The deal means the city will remain owners of the network and St. Joe Valley Metronet Inc. will manage, monitor and maintain it.

 

Stadium Demolition Contract Poised For Approval

The Evansville Board of Park Commissioners is slated to award the Roberts Stadium demolition contract Thursday. Evansville-based Klenck Co. has offered the lowest bid of more than $950,000 to raze the 1950s-era facility and prepare the grounds for a park.

 

Daniels to 'Rock' Halloween

Gov. Mitch Daniels and First Lady Cheri Daniels will dress as Sonny and Cher for Halloween as part of a "Legends of Rock and Roll" theme at the Governor's Residence. The couple will hand out candy provided by five Indiana businesses.

 

Lilly's Cialis Receives Another European Approval

Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. has received an additional European approval for one of its treatments. Cialis can be used in Europe to treat both erectile dysfunction and benign enlarged prostate.

 

Venue Set For $2 Million Renovation

Butler University has received a $2 million grant from the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation to renovate Clowes Memorial Hall. The funding will be used to replace seats and install new carpet ahead of the venue's 50th anniversary celebration.

A conference focusing on working away from the office starts tomorrow in Indianapolis. The 2012 Telework Summit aims to lay out a successful telecommuting blueprint for business owners.

 

Indiana Rural Summit Announced

Indianapolis is set to host the 2012 Indiana Rural Summit next month. Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman will be the keynote speaker for the event focusing on "Advancing Healthy, Wealthy and Wise Communities."

 

WGU Announces IT Professional Scholarship

WGU Indiana has established a scholarship program aimed at working information technology professionals. It will award up to 10 scholarships of up to $2,000 each to students with associate degrees who enroll in specific programs at the online university.

 

Allison Reports Lower Profit

Indianapolis-based Allison Transmission Holdings Inc. is reporting a third quarter profit of $32 million, compared to $39 million for the same period a year earlier. The transmission manufacturer says lower sales, especially in the North America off-highway market, contributed to the lower profit.
