Brewery taps new market

Indiana's craft brewing industry continues to grow. Indianapolis-based Flat 12 Bierwerks LLC has announced plans to open a brewing facility and tap room in Jeffersonville. Chief Executive Officer Sean O'Connor says the move has the potential to double output. He says the location on the Ohio River also gives the brewer better access to the Louisville and Nashville markets.

Notre Dame Launches Strategic Plan

The University of Notre Dame has unveiled a 10-year strategic plan. "A Legacy Expanded" includes goals involving undergraduate education, research and external engagement. 

Tex-Mex Chain Expanding to Hamilton County

A Texas-based restaurant chain is set to open its first Indiana location next month. Chuy's expects to hire 140 workers to staff the Noblesville restaurant. 

AG Details Top Complaints

The Indiana Attorney General's office has unveiled its annual list of top consumer complaints. Greg Zoeller says more than 15,000 complaints were filed in 2013 and the fastest-growing categories include auto and retail sales.

Tech Diploma Bill Raises Concerns

A bill that would create a new technical diploma could be passed by the Senate this week at the Indiana Statehouse. State Representative Wendy McNamara (R-76) authored the bill and says the new degree would better align students with jobs in technical and advanced manufacturing fields. In a Studio(i) interview Indiana Chamber President Kevin Brinegar says while the goal of the new diploma is good, he believes it would fall short in delivering on its promises. Pennsylvania-based Inc. is planning to add workers at its Midwest headquarters in Indianapolis. The online career networking company expects to potentially hire around 50 sales and marketing employees by the end of the year. 

Tourism Group Rebrands

The Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau is now called Hamilton County Tourism Inc. The organization says the move coincides with a new marketing partnership with the county's economic development group, the Hamilton County Alliance. 

Supreme Court Awards Grants

An Indiana Supreme Court funding initiative is boosting local family court projects throughout the state. The grants totaling more than $232,000 involve programs in nearly two dozen counties. 

CNO Selling Subsidiary

Carmel-based CNO Financial Group, Inc. has reached an agreement to sell Conseco Life Insurance Co. The deal with Connecticut-based Wilton Reassurance Co. is expected to close in the middle of this year.
