The chief executive officer of Indianapolis-based Indigo Biosystems Inc. says a round of funding will support growth of the company's cloud-based software and ongoing conversion to a new revenue model. Randy Julian says Indigo has closed on $8.5 million in funding, led by California-based Bootstrap Venture Fund LP. Julian founded the company in 2006 as part of Eli Lilly and Co.'s venture capital unit and took it independent two years later. Indigo makes medical lab test automation software.

Major Fort Wayne Development to Begin

A groundbreaking ceremony is set for Thursday for a nearly $100 million downtown Fort Wayne development. Mayor Tom Henry, developers and executives from Ash Brokerage Corp. will participate in the event.

Hoosier Banks Involved in $20M River Ridge Bond

A handful of small Indiana-based banks has pitched in on a $20 million bond to fund improvements at River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville. New Albany-based Community Bank Shares of Indiana Inc. (Nasdaq: CBIN) says banks in Corydon, Madison, Charlestown and Seymour are part of the deal.

Patrick Industries Adds Painting Group

Elkhart-based Patrick Industries Inc. has completed the acquisition of a northern Indiana painting company. The deal for the Precision Painting Group includes three exterior painting operations and a transportation business.

Triple XXX Favorite Among 'Best Burgers'

A major food and drink website has included a signature dish made in Indiana on its list of the 101 Best Burgers in America. The Daily Meal rated the Dwayne Purvis All-American from the Triple XXX Family Restaurant in West Lafayette 55th overall. Key Vote Set For Future of Wigwam

The Anderson Community School board is slated to vote tomorrow on a major step in a proposal to redevelop the city's iconic Wigwam gym. Pickens to Help Open Indiana LNG Station

BP Capital Management Chief Executive Officer T. Boone Pickens will be in Beech Grove Wednesday to mark the opening of another liquefied natural gas facility. Citizens Energy Group subsidiary Kinetrex Energy has already invested more than $25 million into new Midwest locations.

Wabash County Adopts 'Big Goal'

Wabash County has adopted the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership's "Big Goal," designed to have 60 percent of area residents with postsecondary degrees by 2025. It also has announced plans to assist three additional counties in piloting its CollegeChoice savings account program.

IUPUI to Waive IPS Application Fees

IUPUI says it will soon waive the admission application fee for all Indianapolis Public Schools students. The school plans to drop the $50 charge beginning with IPS students who graduate in spring 2015.

WGU Details Record Scholarship Commitment

WGU Indiana is planning to award a record amount of scholarships during the next year. The school says $400,000 will be available for new undergraduate and graduate students.

Students Set For Air Race Classic

Aviators from two schools in the state will be taking part in a cross-country race for female pilots. Students from Indiana State University and Purdue University will be involved in the Air Race Classic.

Comedy Club to Open in Kokomo

Kokomo's first comedy club is scheduled to open this week. Laugh House owner Mike Gardner says the downtown club will double as a dining and entertainment venue.
