The Indiana University Board of Trustees has selected downtown Evansville as the preferred location for a new medical school and research campus. The project has an estimated cost of $69.5 million, but will be offset by $35 million in public incentives.

Drew Industries Announces Aluminum Deals

Elkhart-based Drew Industries Inc. has sold some of its aluminum extrusion assets to a Texas company. Its Lippert Components unit has also announced a six-year aluminum supply agreement with Dallas-based Atrium Corp.

Breakfast at The Brickyard Lines up Speaker

A two-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 will be the speaker at next month's 500 Festival Breakfast at the Brickyard. Al Unser Jr. will address the annual event at the Speedway. He won the race in 1992 and 1994.

'Second Chance' Fund Launches in Wayne County

A new fund has been started to help students complete work place training through Ivy Tech Community College Richmond. The college and the Wayne County Foundation are partnering on The Second Change Education Fund.

Leadership Academy Leader Retiring

The executive director of the Leadership Academy of Madison County is planning to retire in June. Bobbette Snyder has led the organization for more than two decades. The LAMC board of directors says a successor is expected to be announced "in the near future."

Cabinet Maker Expands in Ferdinand

A manufacturer is expanding in Dubois County. Jasper-based MasterBrand Cabinets Inc. is planning to add more than 260 workers at an operation in Ferdinand. The company wants to invest $8 million in the expansion. MasterBrand currently runs six facilities throughout the state, which employ more than 3,500. Last March, the company announced plans to create more than 70 jobs in Goshen. Read More

Co-Working Space Launches in Lafayette

A $1.5 million facility designed to boost entrepreneurship in downtown Lafayette is now open. The MatchBOX Coworking Studio is billed as the first-of-its-kind in the city and includes a coffee shop and room for 100 members. In January, Tippecanoe County Commissioners approved $500,000 in funding for the project. The Indiana University Research and Technology Corp. is planning to sell its Innovation Center building in Indianapolis. The organization will move into a building on the former Wishard Hospital site as part of a new strategic direction to support faculty innovation. Read More

Report: Purdue to Purchase Church Property
