The chief executive officer of Evansville-based Old National Bancorp says another acquisition represents a continued focus on growth in the Midwest. Bob Jones says a $173 million agreement to acquire United Bancorp Inc. significantly expands the Indiana bank's presence in southern Michigan. Within the last year, Old National has also announced deals for Fort Wayne-based Tower Financial Corp. and two dozen Bank of America branches, many of which are located in Michigan. Jones believes the deal shows the banking industry is bouncing back.

Regional Chamber, Frontier Join Broadband Group

The state's Rural Broadband Working Group has two new members. The Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana and Frontier Communications Corp. are part of the initiative to improve broadband services throughout Indiana.

Airline Adds Fort Wayne to Chicago Flight

A Utah-based airline plans to add another Fort Wayne to Chicago flight starting in April. SkyWest Airlines says that will bring its total to four daily, roundtrip flights between Fort Wayne International Airport and Chicago O'Hare.

Brewery Strikes Distribution Deal

Indianapolis-based Indiana City Brewing Co. has announced a distribution agreement. The deal with Cavalier Indiana Distributing involves keg delivery to local bars.

December State Revenue Above Target

The Indiana State Budget Agency says December revenue was $43 million above the most recent forecast. The state says revenue for the first six months of Fiscal Year 2014 is nearly $3 million above target, and more than $26 million ahead of the same period the previous year.

Allegion Announces South American Deal

Allegion plc, which has its North American headquarters in Carmel, has acquired assets of a South American company. Allegion says the deal for Schlage Lock de Colombia S.A. will allow it to expand in the South American security market.

NTN Driveshaft to Open Health Clinic

NTN Driveshaft in Columbus is joining several businesses throughout the state in starting an employee health clinic. Our partners at The Republic report the satellite clinic is set to open Monday for the company's nearly 1,400 workers and their families.

Restaurant Looking for Workers

A new Hamilton County restaurant is looking to fill more than 130 positions. Tucanos Brazilian Grill is planning hiring events starting tomorrow for its location in Noblesville, which opens next month.

Agency Joins Global Network

Continuing international business growth is prompting an Indiana advertising and marketing communications agency to join a global network. Zionsville-based Miller Brooks Inc. says it has been accepted for membership by global independent agency network ICOM.

AIT Labs Adds Former Med School Dean to Board

Indianapolis-based AIT Laboratories has named Craig Brater to its board of directors. The former Indiana University School of Medicine dean is president of the Virginia-based Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine.

UIndy Selects CFO

The University of Indianapolis has named Michael Holstein vice president and chief financial officer. He previously served in a similar role with a Carmel-based utility consortium.
