A major utility has launched a program to boost awareness of available industrial sites in the state. Duke Energy Indiana's Site Readiness Program offers funding and consultation to economic development officials, including recommendations on how a site can achieve "shovel ready" status. LaGrange County Manufacturer Expanding

Topeka, Indiana-based S&H Metal Products Inc. has announced expansion plans. The sheet metal product manufacturer says the $800,000 investment will allow for a small number of new jobs and the retention of its 25 current employees.

 

Greater Lafayette Commerce, Crane Enter Partnership

Greater Lafayette Commerce is partnering with the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center to help businesses interested in licensing Navy-developed technology. As part of the deal, the organization will hold information sessions on technical assistance and other services available through Crane.

 

Buchanan Group Partners on Baseball-Themed Funeral Products

Two units of Indianapolis-based The Buchanan Group will be involved in a new line of caskets, urns and monuments officially licensed by Major League Baseball Properties. The partnership with Michigan-based Eternal Image Group LLC involves Fewell Enterprises Inc. in Scottsburg and Buchanan Private Label in Indianapolis.

 

Evansville Still Mulling Sports Complex

The Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau is planning a key meeting Friday to outline the next steps for a potential $10-$13 million baseball/softball complex. The Evansville Courier & Press reports the executive session among the bureau's board of commissioners could discuss the "possibility of land purchase."
