Indianapolis-based Republic Airways Holdings Inc. has announced a deal with American Airlines. The agreement calls for Republic to operate more than 50 jets under the American Eagle name. Service is expected to begin in June.

 

Reid Plans to Expand Ohio Services

Richmond-based Reid Hospital & Health Services is expanding services in Greenville, Ohio, which is just across the state line. The health care provider has closed on a deal for property that will become the new home of its Bethel Cardiology operation and allow for the expansion of other services.

 

Pacers Rank Low in NBA Team Value

The Indiana Pacers rank 24th on Forbes' annual list of the most valuable National Basketball Association franchises. The publication values the team at $383 million.

 

Indiana Restaurants on 'Most Romantic' List

California-based OpenTable Inc.'s list of the "100 Most Romantic Restaurants" includes three eateries in Indiana. The online reservation service chose the locations in Indianapolis and Greenwood based on high reviews from website users.

 

Plastics Startup Launches in Evansville

A distribution company has started operations at Evansville's Innovation Pointe. Vidal Plastics LLC was launched this month and hopes to add a small number of employees over the next three years.

 

Legendary Artist's Work Coming to Indy Museum

The Indianapolis Museum of Art will host a collection of paintings, sculptures and other works by French artist Henri Matisse. The museum says it expects large crowds for the Matisse, Life in Color exhibit, which begins in October.

Finalists have been named for the 2nd annual Entrepreneurship Celebration Awards. The honors will be handed out during the Entrepreneurship Celebration Conference next month in Carmel.

 

Hill-Rom Reports Lower Profit

Batesville-based Hill-Rom Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HRC) is reporting fiscal first quarter net income of $24 million, compared to $32.9 million for the same period the previous year. Chief Executive Officer John Greisch says despite the decline, the company's earnings were ahead of expectations.

 

IU East Reports Record Enrollment

Indiana University East is reporting record enrollment of nearly 3,900 students for the spring semester. The school says this is the 15th consecutive semester the student population has increased.

 

Leading Index Posts Slight Increase

The Indiana Business Research Center says the Leading Index for Indiana for January rose slightly compared to December. Despite the increase, IBRC Director of Economic Analysis Tim Slaper says a dip in consumer confidence means economic pessimism "can still be justified."
