One of the most popular coffee shop chains in Canada is launching an ambitious expansion effort in the U.S., including Indiana. Tim Hortons Inc. is planning 15 locations in the Fort Wayne area. It is part of an initiative to open approximately 300 U.S. restaurants by the end of 2018.

Southeast Indiana Company Secures Military Deal

New Albany-based Seaward Services Inc. has landed a nearly $27 million U.S. Navy contract. The deal involves operations and maintenance support for a Florida facility.

Changes Set to Begin in 812 Area Code

State regulators are asking phone customers in the 812 area code to begin using a 10-digit phone number starting Saturday. The current 7-digit system will be phased out in September to prepare for a new 930 area code being implemented throughout much of southern Indiana.

MainGate Grows Deal With NFL Team

Indianapolis-based MainGate Inc. has expanded its partnership with the National Football League's Tennessee Titans. The company has signed a 10-year extension and will serve as the exclusive retail provider for all Titans merchandise.

Weather Prompts Drop in Statewide Home Sales

The Indiana Association of Realtors is reporting a drop in January closed and pending home sales, compared to the same month in 2013. IAR President Kevin Eastridge says the harsh weather delayed closings and prevented showings throughout the state.

INDOT Updates Carmel, Southern Indiana Projects

The Indiana Department of Transportation has released the timeline of two highway projects. One involves an accelerated construction schedule for work along U.S. 31 in Hamilton County. INDOT also says pavement and bridge repairs on I-65 between Scott and Jackson counties are expected to resume Sunday.

'Y' Receives Lilly Endowment Donation

A $5 million gift will boost a YMCA of Greater Indianapolis project. The Eli Lilly and Co. Foundation Inc. donation will help fund construction of a new full-service facility in the city's downtown. The project is a key element of the CityWay mixed-use development.

Bluelock Hires Fromer ExactTarget VP

Indianapolis-based Bluelock LLC has made a key addition to its executive team and announced 2014 hiring plans. The virtual data center company has named Joe Kuntz executive vice president of sales. He is a former vice president of sales at ExactTarget.

Ivy Tech Community College has named Calvin Thomas vice president for its Health Division. He has served in executive roles at hospitals in California, Florida, Georgia and Missouri.

More Communities Join Updated Wireless Network

AT&T Inc. has added the Anderson area to its high-speed 4G LTE wireless network. The company says the technology will also be available to customers around Pendleton.

Stonegate Profit Rises

Indianapolis-based Stonegate Mortgage Corp. is reporting 2013 net income of $22.6 million, up from $17.1 million the previous year. Chief Executive Officer Jim Cutillo says multiple acquisitions last year position the company to be a "significant player" in the emerging mortgage market.
