Partnership Targets Physician Shortage
The University of Evansville believes a new partnership with the Indiana University School of Medicine will help address a physician shortage in southern Indiana. The Baccalaureate to Doctor of Medicine program will allow a select number of students who complete their undergraduate degree at UE to be guaranteed a spot at the IU med school's Evansville campus. Coordinator Kristy Miller says the program will allow students to connect to training and job opportunities at the region's hospitals. Cummins Announces New Engine
Columbus-based Cummins Inc. has unveiled a new heavy-duty engine that will be produced in China beginning next year. Steve Chapman, vice president of the company's Chinese subsidiary, says the platform is a "vivid demonstration" of Cummins' global presence.
