Berry Plastics to acquire global business

Evansville-based Berry Plastics Group Inc. has announced an agreement to purchase a unit of England-based Rexam PLC. The $135 million deal for the health care containers and closures business is expected to close in the second quarter. Rexam has eight U.S. health care manufacturing locations, including one in Franklin.

Fort Wayne company expanding

Fort Wayne-based CPI Card Group has announced plans to expand its Allen County facility. The commercial and identification card producer says it will upgrade equipment and add 14 employees over the next three years.

Auction set for Monaco RV inventory

The remaining inventory of a defunct recreational vehicle manufacturer will be sold tomorrow in Elkhart. Florida-based Allied Specialty Vehicles Inc. ended operations at Monaco RV last month. Hahn Auctioneers Inc. of Nappanee says the liquidation sale will include a few complete vehicles and "enough inventory to run production for weeks."

Greensburg company adds cocoa maker

Greensburg-based MDL Coffee And Tea LLC has purchased a Massachusetts business. The Indiana company says "several positions" will be created once the integration of Best Friends Cocoa is complete.

New advisory group features well-known execs

Indianapolis-based Bose Public Affairs Group LLC has announced a new strategic advisory services team. Former Indiana University Health Chief Operating Office Sam Odle and former Indianapolis Mayor Bill Hudnut will serve as senior-level advisors.

Simon announces more seaders of spin-off

Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group Inc. has made several executive and board appointments for its spin-off company, Washington Prime Group Inc. The positions include chief operating officer and senior vice president.

Mainstreet creates operating company

An Indiana developer is launching an operating company. Carmel-based Mainstreet Property Group LLC says David Stordy will be president of the new division.

Charity insurance program closing

The Indianapolis Medical Society Foundation's Project Health program will close at the end of the month. The organization says the effort provided more than $39 million in free care to uninsured Marion County patients since 2003.

'Big Goal' represented at Chicago event

Executives from the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership are taking part in a national education conference. Vice President of Regional Initiatives Katy Silliman and Big Goal Collaborative Director Ryan Twiss are serving as mentors at StriveTogether's event in Chicago.

UIndy to launch public health masters

The University of Indianapolis says it will offer a new Master of Public Health degree. The program will begin this fall and focus on health disparities based on factors including gender, ethnicity and socioeconomic status.
