With the Lexus LS 600h L sedan, where you sit depends on where you stand.

The Lexus LS 600h L long wheelbase hybrid with available full-time all-wheel drive becomes the luxury brand’s flagship with NBA–size rear seat legroom and hybrid technology that nets 23 miles per gallon on the highway.

“Lexus buyers who move up to the LS 600h L have owned Lexus vehicles before,” says Ric Coven, sales consultant for Lexus of Merrillville. “The LS 600 extended length hybrid sedan adds a lot of personal cabin space with interior acoustics that are even quieter than the standard LS.”

The Lexus LS 600h L hybrid is powered by a conventional 5.0-liter V8 gasoline engine that builds 389 horsepower. When teamed with the on-board battery pack, the 600h performance increases to 438 hp.

An electronic continuously variable automatic transmission manages the hybrid powertrain.

Without compromise, the Lexus LS 600h L is a driver’s car that catapults this 5,203-pound rolling castle 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.6 seconds.

Helping rein the forward momentum is an electronically controlled brake system with vehicle dynamics integrated management that aids traction control, anti-lock brake system and electronic brake force distribution.

At speeds lower than 24 miles per hour an advanced Pre-Collision Safety system with Collision Avoidance Assist technology helps the LS avoid accidents by automatically bringing the car to a full stop without driver intervention.

Rather ride than drive?

Lexus LS 600h L opens to passenger quarters with 50-inch wide rear doors that usher two occupants to an opulent environment courtesy of an available Executive-Class Seating Package featuring a right-side power reclining rear seat with multifunction power massager and leg rest.

Also included is a rear seat wood trimmed table, Blue-ray/DVD rear seat entertainment system with 9-inch high-definition screen, wireless headphones and rear seat audio controls.

Raising the provided power rear door and rear window sunshades darken the aft cabin for optimum viewing pleasure.

The $7,335 package also comes with a rear seat refrigerator, power adjustable rear seats with heated and cooled cushions, and powered butterfly headrests topped by a sound absorbent Alcantara headliner.

With an executive package, the LS 600h L cabin transforms standard five seat capacity to four passenger placement due to the fixed rear-center control console.

An exclusive Mark Levinson 19-speaker, 450-watt surround sound audio system offers all LS 600h L riders a superior listening experience.

“Lexus LS 600h L owners like the low emissions 'green' aspect of the car and at the same time enjoy the phenomenal technology, ride quality and luxurious comfort that comes with this long wheelbase automobile,” Coven said.

The 2013 Lexus LS 600h L with all-wheel drive starts at $120,805 with freight.
