Porter wins building awards

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP | Porter Regional Hospital, which opened Aug. 25, won two construction project awards.

Porter's contractor, Robins & Morton, won the Associated Builders and Contractors Award of Excellence.

This award honors all members of the construction team, including the owner, designer and contractor, and is judged by an out-of-state panel on quality control, safety record, scheduling, value engineering and unique challenges faced in completing the project.

Hospital subcontractor Rieth-Riley Construction Co. was awarded the Pavement Award — Non Governmental New Construction by the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana.

The APAI recognizes the highest quality asphalt paving projects throughout the state.

Valpo center earns distinction

VALPARAISO | The National Committee for Quality Assurance has endorsed HealthLinc in Valparaiso as a Patient-Centered Medical Home provider.

“NCQA’s PCMH Recognition shows that HealthLinc’s Valparaiso clinic has the tools, systems, and resources to provide their patients with the right care at the right time,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane.

HealthLinc CEO Beth Wrobel believes this distinction exemplifies the vision of HealthLinc to be known for its compassion and quality of care.

The Patient-Centered Medical Home distinction comes as the Valparaiso clinic prepares to move to a new location to accommodate growth in recent years. In 2006, when HealthLinc became a Federally Qualified Health Center, the Valparaiso clinic had 1,827 encounters with 997 patients. Six years later, the clinic saw 5,042 patients with 23,174 encounters.
