MUNSTER | The Munster Medical Acupuncture and Wellness Center, 1630 45th Ave., Suite 103, will host a free smoking cessation seminar from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
It will provide smokers with information on how acupuncture can help to biologically stop nicotine cravings.

Free dental services Monday
VALPARAISO | HealthLinc is participating in The American Dental Association’s Give Kids a Smile Day on Monday.
Due to special funding, HealthLinc will offer free dental services to uninsured children 18 and younger, at its Valparaiso and Michigan City locations.
Appointments are recommended and are available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Knox patients can schedule with the Valparaiso or Michigan City locations. Spanish language interpreters are available.
Individuals with Medicaid and other insurance should call and ask about other appointment options.
Give Kids a Smile Day is an initiative of the American Dental Association to provide access to dental services for children who otherwise might go without care.

USF admission tips discussed
CROWN POINT | The University of St. Francis Crown Point Admission Department will host question-and-answer sessions on Feb. 27 and March 20 for candidates seeking information about the admission process and program requirements. The sessions begin at 5:30 p.m. and concludes at 7.
An admission counselor will explain entry requirements for the university, the USF School of Health Sciences and the recently introduced associate of science – medical lab technician program. Candidates for admission may bring high school and college transcripts for a free evaluation.

CNA course begins March 4
LAPORTE | Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital, in partnership with Ivy Tech Corporate College, is offering a certified nursing assistant course.
The course begins March 4 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.
Certified nursing assistants, or CNAs, provide basic nursing care for patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
The course costs $895 and includes a background check, drug screen and state testing fee. Those interested are invited to attend an informational session at 6 p.m. Wednesday at IU Health LaPorte Hospital, 1007 Lincolnway, in the lower level auditorium.
