CROWN POINT | The University of Saint Francis Crown Point admissions department will host a question-and-answer session at 5:30 p.m. today.
The session is for candidates seeking information about the admission process and requirements for nursing programs and the associate of science-medical lab technician program.
Also, a counselor will explain entry requirements for the University of Saint Francis and the USF School of Health Sciences. Candidates for admission may bring high school and college transcripts for a free evaluation.
The school is at Franciscan Point, 12800 Mississippi Parkway, Pavilion U. An RSVP is suggested but not required.

Seniors group meets Thursday
HAMMOND | The public is invited to attend the Thursday meeting of the Franciscan Senior Promise group.
“How to Protect Yourself and Remain Safe” will be the topic, presented by a member of the Hammond Police Department.
The meeting will be at 10 a.m. at the hospital, 5454 Hohman Ave. Attendees should check at the hospital’s information desk in the front lobby to learn the meeting room location.
Franciscan Senior Promise, a program of Franciscan St. Margaret Health, is a club that offers people ages 55 and older information on health issues and advice on lifestyles choices, along with the opportunity to socialize and make new acquaintances.
Meetings take place monthly, with game days, movie and popcorn days, defensive driving courses, a yearly flu shot clinic and daytime and overnight trips among scheduled activities.

School physicals, screenings
HARVEY | Ingalls Memorial Hospital and Family Christian Health Center will offer discounted school physicals and dental screenings, and free immunizations at KidFest 2013.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 27 at Family Christian Health Center, 31 W. 155th St.
School physicals will be offered for $10 and dental screenings for $5.
Both are free for participants with a current medical card. Free immunizations will be available for infants and children; previous immunization records are required.
The event will include music, entertainment, games, refreshments, clowns and face painting. A flea market will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Physician joins Munster clinic
MUNSTER | Dr. Samuel Gbenro has joined Franciscan Hammond Clinic in its family practice department.
