KNOX | Craig Felty has been named interim administrator of Indiana University Health Starke Hospital, as Linda Satkoski prepares for retirement.

Felty has served as executive director of patient care services of IU Health Starke Hospital since January 2011.

IU Health Executives are currently conducting a search for a permanent President of IU Health Starke Hospital. The search is expected to be complete in the spring.

Felty brings more than 25 years of patient care and health care management experience to the position.

He has worked as patient care manager of the Mitchell Emergency Department at the University of Chicago Medical Center, critical care transport nurse for an ambulance service in Illinois and Director of Emergency Services for Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Ill.

He previously served as assistant chief flight nurse for University of Chicago Hospitals and manager of aeromedical services for Loyola University Medical Center.

Felty has experience in neonatal and pediatric transport, as a trauma nurse in the Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center Emergency Department, legal nurse consulting and volunteer firefighting.
