Charlotte Hess, of Valparaiso, has recently joined Carstar Collision Center in Crown Point and Schererville as the marketing manager for both Carstar collision facilities. Hess has 18 years of insurance experience and is a licensed property and casualty agent.

William Stack has been elected president of the Winfield/Lakes of the Four Seasons Chamber of Commerce for 2010. Stack has been an active member of the Chamber since 2004. Stack is the president and owner of a marketing/communications firm called the Spinnaker Group.

Jeffrey Monberg was recently announced as partner at Krieg DeVault. He previously served as tenured associate with the law firm's Schererville office. Monberg's practice focuses on representing clients in Northwest Indiana and Chicago.

John German, of Munster, has joined Velvac Inc. of New Berlin, Wis., as heavy duty aftermarket market manager. German has had executive sales management positions with Federal Signal, Siemens Energy & Automation and Westinghouse Electric Corp.

Katie Phillips of Re/Max Affiliates in Valparaiso has earned the Certified Distressed Property Expert designation, having completed training in foreclosure avoidance, with an emphasis on short sales.

Dee Schultz has joined A Touch of Magic Spa and Salon in Crown Point as a licensed massage therapist. Schultz offers relaxation, deep-tissue, reflexology and sport massages to improve athletic performance.

Erwin McKone, Certified Golf Course Superintendent at Briar Ridge County Club in Schererville, was named the Michiana GCSA chapter winner of the 2009 Golf Course Superintendents Association of America/Golf Digest Environmental Leaders in Golf Merit Award.
