GARY | Accion, the City of Gary, the Gary Economic Development Corp. and the Northwest ISBDC are hosting an open house to celebrate a partnership, as well as to kick off Accion and the ISBDC's new office hours in Gary.
The event will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Feb. 26 at the second floor of City Hall, 401 Broadway, and will feature remarks from Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson.
Accion is a nonprofit microfinance organization. Accion makes loans from $500 to $50,000 and average $8,000 per loan. About 40 percent of its customers are start–ups and loan terms average 18 months.
