DYER | John A. Perkovich is opening a new antiques & collectibles shop, Scarce Antiques & Collectibles, at 1000 Richard Road, located 1/2 block south of U.S. 30 and two blocks east of Calumet Avenue.

The business, which specializes in mid-century modern, will host a grand opening this weekend, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

After the grand opening, the regular winter business hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, Friday by appointment only, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays by appointment only. Hours will expand in the spring and summer.

Perkovich, who has been a collector for more than 30 years and in the business for six years, says his store will stock a variety of items from 1950s and 60s furniture to fine crystal and art and items for men.
