LAKE STATION | Iron Workers Local 395 will continue taking applications for its apprenticeship program Thursday and Friday between 9 a.m. and noon at the union's training school, 890 E. 25th Ave.
Applicants must be high school graduates or have a GED to qualify for the program. Applicants must be 18 years of age by June 1 and must be physically able to perform work duties.
Individuals must pay a non-refundable $10 fee in cash at the time the application is submitted. Applicants must also furnish copies of their high school transcript or GED scores, high school diploma or GED certificate, birth certificate, valid driver's license or state-issued picture identification.
Drug testing will be mandatory.
The Portage-based local is an affiliate of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers.
