MICHIGAN CITY | The board of Northern Indiana’s regional tourism organization unanimously named Jack Arnett its new president at its monthly meeting.
Arnett has been executive director of the LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau since 2007. He will oversee the seven-county Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission, which aims to help improve buying power and broaden marketing capabilities for the member counties.
LaPorte, Porter, St. Joseph, Marshall, Elkhart, Kosciusko and LaGrange counties are part of the organization’s membership.
“I am deeply honored by having been elected to serve as president of NITDC,” Arnett said in a statement. “It’s very humbling to follow behind those who have previously served, most of whom are leaders across the country in our industry.”
