Carmel's Dormir LLC has announced it will invest more than $2.5 million to expand its corporate headquarters in central Indiana and create more than 160 jobs. Gov. Mitch Daniels was on hand for the announcement. Dormir is the parent company of sleep center development and management company MD Sleep. Daniels also was on hand in Warsaw to announce more than 100 new jobs at another life sciences company, OrthoPediatrics.

Cummins, WellPoint join DiversityInc list

Two Indiana-headquartered companies have made DiversityInc's list of the Top 50 Companies for Diversity. Indianapolis-based WellPoint Inc. and Columbus-based Cummins Inc. made the list. Other companies with an Indiana presence named were Macy's, Verizon Communications and AT&T.

Anthem Insurance expands into China

Anthem Insurance Co. Inc. has opened its first office in China. China Knowledge is reporting that the Anthem Insurance Co. Inc. Beijing representative Office will work to improve medical care services in China.

Franklin Electric tells leadership changes

Bluffton's Franklin Electric Co. Inc. says Thomas Strupp will step down as chief financial officer and secretary. Strupp is making the move to focus on his position as president of Franklin's Water Transfer Systems. John Haines will join Franklin Electric as the new vice president, chief financial officer and secretary. He most recently was managing director and chief executive officer of HSBC Auto Finance.

Wabash National gets trailer order

Lafayette-based Wabash National Corp. has received an order for 1,900 trailers from Springfield, Mo.-based Prime Inc. The order is for Wabash National's Arctic-Lite refrigerated trailers.

IU researchers awarded $1.2M grant

Indiana University researchers have been awarded $1.2 million by the National Institutes of Health. The money will be used to design, deploy and maintain Epidemics Cyber infrastructure. Officials say the study of epidemics is crucial for understanding factors that affect public health.

Purdue facilities receive $2M gift

Purdue University's College of Technology and Purdue Libraries has received a $2 million gift from alumnus Richard Thomas and his wife, Kyle. A total $1.8 million will go toward the College of Technology and the rest to Purdue Libraries.

Angie's List seeks to aid ATA workers

Angie's List has set up a Web site to help nearly 600 displaced ATA workers apply for jobs with the Indianapolis-based consumer ratings service. Angie's List says it is currently adding workers and expects to continue to add staff throughout the year.
