Lake County visitors bureau changes name

The Lake County Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors has changed its name to the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority.

The South Shore brand is reflective of the area from Chicago to New Buffalo, Mich., and is the geographic region the authority markets to visitors and meeting and event planners.

The label South Shore stands as a nationally recognized term reinforced by the South Shore Line Railroad that runs from South Bend to Chicago and the popular South Shore Line Poster Series; both have existed for nearly century. Many other organizations in Northwest Indiana have adopted the brand "South Shore" in their name or tag line

The Authority's website has changed to www.southshorecva.com. The SSCVA's executive offices are located at 7770 Corinne Drive, inside the Indiana Welcome Center.
