Construction class offers tool for projects

The Construction Advancement Foundation will host a four-hour course entitled, "Scope Control and Change Order Management," from 8 a..m. to noon July 24 at its office, 6050 Southport Road. Scope control is a preventative process that starts with a detailed project understanding and ensures discipline in changing the scope during project execution. Change order management involves processes for managing all changes and associated documentation that occur on projects. Ms. Elle's especially for you -- a womens clothing boutique -- will open at 2235 45th St. Saturday.

Owner Lorna Colette Moore is an East Chicago native who has more than 20 years' experience in fashion merchandising. She has served as a district and regional manager, managing teams and retail businesses with L S Ayres, Victoria's Secret, Filene's Basement, Banana Republic, GAP and other Midwest stores.

New 'green' dining concept launches Saturday

Third Coast Spice Cafe will open Saturday in the Galleria Mall at 761 Indian Boundary Road, Suite 6, for breakfast and lunch from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

The cafe will feature organic and local products and the restaurant's mission of offering fresh, healthy, affordable fare is evident throughout the menu.

Chef David Wodrich, originally from Valparaiso, and his wife and pastry chef, Lisa Wodrich, a Chesterton native, will offer waffles, buttermilk pancakes and omelets, as well as more exotic choices such as a vegan breakfast burrito and gianduja stuffed French toast.

Lunch menu offers an assortment of sandwiches on artisan breads and large salads with housemade dressings.
