Bancorp announces revised 2007 earnings

NorthWest Indiana Bancorp, holding company for Peoples Bank, says net income for the fourth quarter and the year ended Dec. 31, 2007, is being revised downward by $35,000, or $0.01 per share.

The adjustment, according to a company press release, is a result of recently received updated appraisals for a previously reported impaired commercial real estate participation loan and an impaired letter of credit related to a commercial real estate project.

Net income for 2007 is being revised to $5.6 million, or $1.99 earnings per basic earnings per share and $2.30 diluted earnings per share. As a result of the change in net income for 2007, the return on average assets was 0.91 percent and return on average equity was 10.78 percent.
