Cynthia Walsh, of Crown Point, has been appointed to a two-year term on the board of trustees of the Indiana Public Employees' Retirement Fund (PERF). Walsh is the vice president and chief financial officer for National Bond and Trust.

Pat Pullara, chief operating officer of the Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors, has been named a member of the board of directors for the Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana.

Theresa Valade, CEO of The Growth Coach in Valparaiso, recently participated in the FBI Citizens' Academy. At the six-week course Valade learned about the FBI's structure and operations, forensics, technology, training, and policies and issues, such as ethics, drug enforcement and criminal trends.
