Bloomington-based ProCure Treatment Centers Inc has received another $35 million investment. The McClendon Venture Co. LLC in Oklahoma City is making the investment as ProCure continues to develop a network of cancer treatment centers across the country. The company received a $35 million investment in December 2006 from MVC and several related individuals.
BMV customers can create virtual accounts
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is expanding its online services. Customers now can create a myBMV virtual account for transactions. Customers also will have access to several new online features, such as selecting and reserving a personalized license plate and checking the status of a registration renewal. Indiana law currently does not allow online drivers license renewal. The BMV plans to try to get that law changed during the next legislative session.
IUPUI enters into racing partnership
Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis has announced it will sponsor Sarah Fisher's race car for the upcoming Indianapolis 500. IUPUI says Fisher started her own race team and exhibits the entrepreneurial spirit the school wants its students to possess.
Lilly workers participate in service day
More than 8,400 Indianapolis-area employees of Eli Lilly and Co. participated in what organizers say could be the largest corporate volunteer initiative to ever take place on one day. Lilly workers in nearly 50 nations took part in Wednesday's first Global Day of Service. The central Indiana workers helped with 60 projects, including tree planting, the construction of Habitat for Humanity house frames and mural painting.
Environmental group gets its largest grant
The Hoosier Environmental Council says it has received the largest grant in its 25-year history. The McKinney Family Foundation is providing $200,000 and will match any contributions that the Hoosier Environmental Council Foundation receives during the next two years.
Grant provided for new initiative
The University of Southern Indiana has received a $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation to create a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) initiative in southwest Indiana. The Southwestern Indiana Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Initiative will be comprised of four programs, including one to assist students. Ivy Tech Community College will participate in the effort.
