MICHIGAN CITY

Entrepreneur Center hosts training program

The Entrepreneur Center Michigan City, 422 Franklin St., and The Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center will host a NxLeveL Entrepreneurial Training Program.

The NxLeveL Entrepreneurs course is a six-session intensive training program designed to encourage business expansion in a community. This course focuses on teaching the art of better business practices while producing a comprehensive business plan to guide business expansion decisions and activities.

This six-week course will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, starting Oct. 21st. It will be taught by Todd Dickard, Business Advisor from the Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center. Registration is limited. Cost is $125, which covers tuition, textbook and workbook. To register, call Heather Melnyk at (219) 809.4200, ext. 300.

LANSING

Accountants group hosts meeting

The Calumet Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants will host a college student and member appreciation night Tuesday at J.J. Kelley's, 2455 Bernice Road.

The board meeting begins at 5:15 p.m., followed by dinner and the presentation.

David Marshall, principal, Infotech Global, will present "Using Internal Controls to Prevent Fraud."

Cost is $15 for IMA members and guests, $10 for college students and professors or $25 for all other guests. Seating is limited.

INDIANAPOLIS

Life Science Lunch Series scheduled

Barnes & Thornburg LLP's next Life Science Lunch Series seminar, "Cool Chain Logistics'" is set for 10:30 a.m. to noon locally Tuesday. A live video feed of the presentation will be broadcast at the Purdue Technology Center, 9800 Connecticut Drive.

Speakers will discuss how combining Indiana's strengths in life sciences and logistics has created a hot spot for management of temperature-controlled cargo.

The lunch series is offered free and is open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch.
